Indonesia - Nigeria: Hacking Conflict

Komisi Nasional Pemurnian Seni (KNPS)

National Committee for Art Purification

KNPS is a performative activity work in a site-specific installation in which self-criticism as intangible purification activities are represented in the form of tangible physical refining activity.
Through this work, KNPS then take the appropriate role of ‘formal institutions’ that seems to have the legal authority to force people to do this purification process. Interactions through the bureaucratic system designed in this work will lead to tensions, both among individuals with personal ideology that they believes in, as well as with the social terrain around it. Hopefully after going through this process, visitors are not only experiencing mere physical purification, but also undergo the real experience of the conflicts that may arise when performing self-criticism.
